Gates ‘The Sniper’ Cook will take on Melvin Jovel at LFA 204: Cunha vs. Freeman. This bout should be a slugfest, as each fighter enters the cage as a top-ten talent in their states Welterweight division.

Jovel is 4-1, with his undefeated streak coming to an end in a hard-fought decision loss to Brian Torres at LFA 194. He is the second-ranked Welterweight in the state of New Jersey. His four wins are split between decisions and choke submissions.

Cook, the ninth-ranked Welterweight in Ohio, is 4-2, with all four victories coming via submission or knockout. His last bout was a tough loss at catchweight in Fury Amateur Series 56 against Sean Magnus, who unfortunately didn’t make weight.

LFA 204: Cunha vs. Freeman

This fight is set to take place on March 22nd in Mashantucket, Connecticut. The stage is set for an absolute banger of a bout, with these fighters stacked right next to each other in the North American Amateur Welterweight rankings. Jovel is 126th, while Cook is 125th. A big win for either fighter could push them into the top 100. Be ready for a finish at any moment since both brawlers have shown their ability to submit their opponent.
